For law firms

TimeHunter for law firms — lawyer time per case, invoice PDF

Every case is a project, every lawyer has a partner / associate / junior rate. TimeHunter packs it all into one PDF and you bill the client like an agency.

Lawyer time per case

In TimeHunter “client” = a firm client, “project” = a specific case (e.g. “X Inc. — litigation”). Every lawyer starts work, picks the case and task type (analysis, filings, hearing, phone advice). The client PDF lists tasks, hours and amounts.

Rates: partner / associate / junior

Each client has 3 rates by seniority. System picks the rate based on the lawyer’s role.

Custom rate per case

Pro bono case or success fee? Enter a custom rate when starting.

Full attorney-client privilege

RLS guarantees client data isolation. Audit log on every action.

Legal task types — detailed tracking

TimeHunter ships pre-defined task types for law firms: document analysis, drafting, phone advice, hearing, legal consultation, mediation, due diligence. Lawyer picks the type at start — monthly report breaks down by type. Key info for pricing future matters.

Document analysis

Reading contracts, legal expertise — “research” type.

Court filings

Lawsuit, appeal, motion — “drafting” type.

Phone consultation

Short phone advice — “call” type. Often a lower rate than formal filings.

Court hearings

Travel + presence + return — “hearing” type.

GDPR & attorney-client privilege — EU-only data

Lawyers have privilege obligations. Client data must be protected from third parties — including cloud vendors. TimeHunter: EU-only data (Frankfurt + Warsaw), no US transfers, ready DPA, RLS at the database level. Your case X notes never leak into case Y, or into another firm.

Integration with legal research and case management

Law firms use LEX/Legalis (PL), ASPI/Beck-online (CZ) + case management (Clio, MyCase). TimeHunter has a REST API — case time syncs into your case management. Templates for 4 PL and 3 CZ tools.

Frequently asked questions

Can I show the client a detailed task report?
Yes. Each session can have a task description (e.g. “preparing appeal to social security”). The PDF report lists date, hours, description and total — ready for the client.
Is the data secure?
TimeHunter keeps data only in the EU (Frankfurt + Warsaw backup), with TLS 1.3, AES-256 at rest and 2FA for admin accounts. DPA ready to sign.
How to bill success-fee cases?
Success-fee case = set “custom rate” = 0 during the case (time counts, billable = 0). After winning generate the PDF with hours and notes — invoice basis for the success fee.
Can I add a “hours cap” for a retainer client?
Yes. Each client has an optional monthly hours budget. Alert at 80%. Overage shown separately in the PDF — easier overage talks.
Do you support local tax IDs?
Yes — client card takes local tax IDs (NIP/IČO/DIČ/VAT EU). System validates format and (optionally) checks VIES. PDF includes both.
How much for a 5-person law firm?
Pro plan: €4 × 5 = €20/month. Project billing addon: €0.50 × 5 = €2.50/month. Total: €22.50/month. Annual: €225.
